Position Summary

Location: 377 Roosevelt Ave, Carteret, NJ 07008 and Midtown Manhattan

This role involves daily transportation of packages from our New Jersey facility to designated locations in Midtown Manhattan. A key responsibility is the efficient coordination of our on-foot delivery personnel, ensuring they receive the necessary packages for timely final delivery. This requires effective communication and logistical oversight to optimize delivery workflows within the Manhattan service area. The position necessitates a reliable individual capable of independent driving and collaborative coordination to meet daily delivery targets.

Responsibilities

Load/unload packages at our Carteret, NJ warehouse into a 26' box truck.
Deliver packages daily to Delivery Associates in Manhattan.
Operate your vehicle safely and responsibly at all times.
Use a handheld device for routing and delivery info.
Navigate various routes and work in all weather conditions.
Stay customer-obsessed—we deliver packages and smiles.
Lift packages up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodation).
Shifts range 10–14 hours, available 7 days/week.

Qualifications

Valid or New Jersey Driver's License.
DOT certification and a valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (MEC).
- Note: We offer DOT certification through our partner for interested candidates.
Experience operating a 26' DOT box truck is preferred but not required.
Ability to work daytime shifts (typically 8 hours long) and adapt to a flexible schedule.
Full-time availability required.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Do I need experience to apply?

Experience is preferred, but not required. If your resume demonstrates strong potential, we’re happy to cover the cost of your DOT registration to help you get started.

How does the hiring process work?

After signing the offer letter, the applicant must pass a standard 5 panel drug test, complete the required J.J. Keller training and successfully perform a road test. During this time, the hiring team creates the applicant’s company email, and they are officially added to the active schedule to begin work. Puleri Logistics will cover all standard training costs associated with J.J. Keller training processes.

How long is training?

Training takes a minimum of 4 days. You’ll do ride-alongs with a trainer. Based on your performance and their review, you’ll move on to independent driving.

How many hours will I be driving per shift?

Most shifts are a minimum of 10 hours, which is typical for this role. The actual shift length can vary based on the route and circumstances, so please come prepared for flexibility.

What does Day 1 look like?

Communicate with dispatch to confirm your start time.
Arrive 30 minutes early.
Meet with your trainer and complete a pre-trip inspection.
Head to the distribution facility, receive your dispatch sheet, and load carts.
Drive to the anchor point in Midtown Manhattan.
Distribute packages to walkers.
After deliveries, return to NJ, unload returns and equipment at distribution facility, and return the truck to the yard.
