Position Summary

As an Overnight Middle Mile Box Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight between designated warehouse locations, operating a 26' DOT-regulated vehicle. This includes maintaining accurate driving logs, vehicle mileage, and cargo details, while strictly adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies. You will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly reporting any issues. Effective communication with dispatch and warehouse teams is essential for seamless coordination of pick-ups and deliveries.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a 26' DOT box truck.
Ensure timely and accurate freight deliveries between warehouse locations.
Maintain logs of hours, mileage, and cargo details.
Follow all DOT regulations and company policies.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, or violations.
Communicate clearly with dispatch and warehouse teams for smooth coordination.

Qualifications

Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
DOT certification and a valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (MEC).

Experience operating a 26' DOT box truck is preferred but not required.
Ability to work overnight shifts (typically 8 hours long) and adapt to a flexible schedule.
Full-time availability preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

How does the hiring process work?

After signing the offer letter, the applicant must pass a standard 5 panel drug test, complete the required J.J. Keller training and successfully perform a road test. During this time, the hiring team creates the applicant’s company email, and they are officially added to the active schedule to begin work. Puleri Logistics will cover all standard training costs associated with J.J. Keller training processes.

How long is training?

Training takes a minimum of 4 days. You’ll do ride-alongs with a trainer. Based on your performance and their review, you’ll move on to independent driving.

How many hours will I be driving per shift?

Most shifts are a minimum of 10 hours, which is typical for this role. The actual shift length can vary based on the route and circumstances, so please come prepared for flexibility.

What does Day 1 look like?

Communicate with dispatch to confirm your start time.
Show up 30 minutes early.
Meet with your trainer and complete a pre-trip inspection.
Drive to the distribution facility and receive routes.
Pick up packages and load the truck.
Deliver to assigned postal locations.
Drop off packages throughout route.
Return to the yard, perform a post-trip inspection, and clock out.
